Current Projects

Long Term Work Force Housing Design Services.  Support from HUD through the Mississippi Development Authority to provide design services to five housing organizations that are receiving HUC funds. 100 houses are projected to be completed in 2009. Link: building page.

East Biloxi Redevelopment Planning.  Support from the Knight Foundation through the Biloxi Housing Authority to provide community planning for a network of housing organizations. Link: Main Street Neighborhood Study

Renaissance Development Standards.  Contract with the Mississippi Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation to create and administer development standards.

John Henry Beck Park. Working with community leaders on planning the program of the park and developing individual projects. Link: John Henry Beck Park.

Bethel Estates.  Contract with Back Bay Mission to provide design services for 36 affordable houses. Link: Bethel Estates

Energy Efficient Design Tools.  Support from the Department of Energy to research practical energy conservation measures, produce design tools for energy choices, and implement energy conservation methods in house projects.

Moss Point Community Studio.  Support from the National Endowment for the Arts for a series of exhibits and community workshops. Link: Moss Point Studio.

Union Street Housing.  Contract with Bay Waveland Habitat for Humanity to provide landscape design, house design advice and design standards for an affordable housing project.  Link: Union Street

Housing Systems Educational Program.  Support from the Small Business Administration for research, education and demonstration of comparative housing systems. Link: Alternative Construction Research Guide.

GIS Mapping.  Support from HUD to create and maintain a GIS database and to produce maps for various communities and housing organizations. Link: Biloxi Housing Assessment

North Gulfport Community Planning.  Support from the Enterprise Community Partners Green Communities Grant Program for community planning work.

Moss Point Façade Improvement Grant Program.  Contract with JBHM Architects to administer a façade improvement grant program.

Flood Proof Construction Research.  Support from SERRI and the Department of Homeland Security to research and demonstrate flood proof commercial construction.
