Eagles Nest

The Ohr O'keefe Museum and the GCCDS teamed up to teach Pascagoula High School students about architecture. With the emphasis being that architecture is made for someone else, the high school students decided to build something for the students of the East Lawn Elementary. After developing a few ideas, they presented them to the elementary students who enthusiastically gave ideas and suggestions. Through this dialogue, the high school students and the GCCDS, along with the help of the Women In Construction's welding skills, designed and built the Eagles Nest at East Lawn Elementary School. The project, by request of the elementary students, included a climbing wall, fire pole, ramp, spaces to climb, to gather and to hide.
